TRAINING TECHNIQUE AT THE WALL WORKSHOP

Yoga poses benefit many functions and parts of the body 
but only if we are balanced and correctly aligned when we practice them.   
 This practical and interactive workshop explores using the wall to assist in training proper alignment in the poses. It includes introductory discussion and lots of opportunity to learn and practice in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment.   All levels from beginner to yoga teachers are welcome.

This workshop is intended to provide you with the required practice teaching hours for Certification in Teaching Basic Asanas.  
 We will review and work on pose technique, teaching methodology and practice teaching in a relaxed and positive atmosphere.  Participants will receive individual attention and coaching.  There will be time provided for discussion, questions and answers.  This workshop is also a good opportunity to practice, share and exchange ideas with other new yoga teachers.

Description of trainingThis training will provide teachers with knowledge of the history, philosophy, and benefits of practicing Yin Yoga, and basic Yin Yoga anatomy and safety.  We will breakdown and practice technique of Yin Yoga Asanas, practicing execution and how to teach the poses including variations, modifications, and counter-poses.  Teachers will learn how to develop and deliver safe, effective and beneficial Yin Yoga Classes.

BASIC PRENATAL ASANAS
Dates:  June 22-23, 2013
Times:  Saturday and Sunday 9 am - 6 pm

Description of training:
This training is suitable for:
Yoga Teachers who are planning to teach Prenatal Yoga Classes, Teachers who would like to learn safe, beneficial adaptations and modifications for prenatal students in their classes, and also for Health and Wellness Professionals (massage therapists, chiropractors, etc.) who work with pregnant women.   Yogis who would like to deepen their own personal knowledge about prenatal yoga.

Note:  To be a Certified Yoga Teacher students must have also completed a minimum of a Basic Yoga Teacher Certification training.

YOGA NIDRA TRAINING
Dates:   October 19-20, 2013
Times:  Saturday and Sunday 9 am - 6 pm  (18 hours Yoga Alliance Contact Credits + 2 non-contact)
Fee:  $315

Description of TrainingThis workshop will be relaxed, inclusive and gentle on the spirit.  It will be designed so you can feel free to honour yourself and your own needs with yoga, deep rest, and deep healing.  During the meditations, you will be gently guided into a deep state of meditation, designed to create profound relaxation and personal healing.   This workshop may be what we need in our busy lives.  Together, we will create a wonderful opportunity for each of us to  come back into natural harmony, balance, and spiritual wholeness in our own way.  Our learning experience will include Yoga Nidra, including "iRest Yoga Nidra" with Guest Teacher  Kimberly Lawrence.  
Prerequisite for Yoga Nidra weekend training: Yoga Teacher Certification
Note:  There is no prerequisite for Yogis who would like attend only the iRest Workshop Sunday 9:30am - 4:30pm (fee $110).  Please email kathleenyoga@gmail.com to inquire regarding registration.
