Kathleen is a Registered Yoga Teacher Trainer, 200 Hour E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher), RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher), and Owner/Director of Namaskar Yoga, Registered Yoga School with the International Yoga Alliance (http://yogalliance.org/). Kathleen works at continuing education and on-going training in the varied aspects of yoga, anatomy, philosophy, health and well being, and various forms of yoga training and certification with Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Schools including teaching Prenatal Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra. She is also Certified as a Fitness Instructor and Strength Trainer trained through the YMCA, YWCA, and SPRA, and is a regular speaker and presenter at Yoga and Fitness Conferences. Kathleen has been awarded the YWCA Woman of Distinction Award in Athletics. She has over 30 years of experience in the field of fitness and wellness, with over 6,000 documented hours of experience teaching yoga, and has been providing yoga teacher training and certification for Yoga Teachers to register with the International Yoga Alliance since 2009. Kathleen teaches with great care, integrity and respect.

Description of training: This training will provide teachers with knowledge of the history, philosophy, and benefits of practicing Yin Yoga, and basic Yin Yoga anatomy and safety. We will breakdown and practice technique of Yin Yoga Asanas, practicing execution and how to teach the poses including variations, modifications, and counter-poses. Teachers will learn how to develop and deliver safe, effective and beneficial Yin Yoga Classes.

TEACHING BASIC PRENATAL ASANAS (Yoga Alliance Contact CEC's) Continuing to build from the Basic Prenatal Asanas module, this will be training and practice specific to developing and delivering wonderful prenatal classes. Training will include cueing, sequencing, transitions, pranayama, mantras, various teaching styles and practice teaching time. We will learn methods to design and teach beneficial, adaptive, and safe prenatal yoga classes. Basic prenatal yoga anatomy and philosophy will be covered. Sample prenatal yoga classes. Description of Training: This workshop will be relaxed, inclusive and gentle on the spirit. It will be designed so you can feel free to honour yourself and your own
needs with yoga, deep rest, and deep healing. During the meditations, you will be gently guided into a deep state of meditation,
designed to create profound relaxation and personal healing. This workshop may be what we need in our busy lives. Together, we will create a wonderful opportunity for each of us to come back into natural harmony,
balance, and spiritual wholeness in our own way. Our learningexperience will include information on koshas, chakras, levels of consciousness, and a portion on "iRest Yoga Nidra" with Guest Teacher Kimberly Lawrence.

YOGA FOR KIDS! (Yoga Alliance Contact CEC's)
Times: Saturday and Sunday 9 am - 6 pm (18 hours Yoga Alliance Contact Credits + 2 non-contact) Fee: $325 (includes gst) Instructors: Kathleen Podiluk, E-RYT, RPYT and Amanda Plante, RYT, RCYT Description of Training: In January 2014, Namaskar Yoga will offer a Yoga for Kids! Teacher Training Module designed for yoga teachers, educators, parents and anyone who would like to share the joy of yoga with young people. You do not need to be a yoga teacher to take this workshop; however, only registered yoga teachers can receive continuing education credit through the International Yoga Alliance for this certification course. In this 18-hour experiential training we will explore how physical poses (asana), breathing exercises (pranayama), mindfulness and meditation practices, relaxation techniques and yogic philosophy can be adapted to be engaging and effective for different age groups. With the focus on having fun, you will learn yoga-influenced songs, stories and games to inspire children from preschoolers to adolescents. This workshop will provide practical theory and discussion of age-appropriate teaching techniques as well as active participation in yoga activities for ages 3-16. This training will help you rediscover the playful and creative child that lies within you - by practicing and learning to teach yoga while laughing, playing, dancing and singing! You will come away with immediate tangible knowledge and lots of ideas for developing your own captivating and fun yoga experiences for young people. While sharing the joy of yoga you will help children develop life-enhancing skills by introducing practices and philosophy to nurture patience, compassion and happiness in a fun, joyful and non-competitive environment
